2X2 Ribbed Hat - Free Knitting Pattern

I have a new free pattern for subscribers. It’s a clean and classic ribbed beanie, perfect for the whole family. It has a wide cuff for extra warmth over the ears and it is stretchy enough to fit most adult heads.
This hat is designed with comfort and versatility in mind. It features a wide cuff for extra warmth over the ears and it comes in three sizes, making it a great fit for kids, teens, and adults alike.
It’s the perfect everyday hat: simple, timeless, and easy to style. Whether you’re dressing casually or heading out for a brisk walk, it just works. Men and even the pickiest teens tend to love it because it’s clean, cozy, and not fussy. Knitters love it too because it’s a quick, satisfying knit and makes a thoughtful, practical gift.
This is also a wonderful project for those precious hand-dyed skeins in your stash. The simple rib texture and beautifully shaped crown highlight both the color and the texture of your yarn in a subtle, elegant way.
The hat is knit in the round from brim to crown, beginning with a 3-inch (7.5 cm) ribbed cuff. The crown is shaped with four darts that swirl into a standout feature (definitely the star of this design, full of movement and personality).
Although this is a beginner-friendly pattern, there are a few basic techniques you should be comfortable with before starting:
Casting on and joining to knit in the round
