Urki, a name of Basque origin, holds a deep connection to nature. It means "birch tree", evoking the resilience and beauty of this beloved woodland wonder. It is generally used as a boy's name. I feel that the name perfectly capture the lace pattern and style. What do you think? Let me know in the comments =)
This is a warm-weather tee that is fresh, versatile, and with a great fit. It comes in a wide range of sizes, from 32 to 64 inches (81 to 162 cm) of bust circumference. It has a simple construction, a delicate lace yoke, and a style easily modified to wear just as you like it.
The Urki tee is knitted seamlessly top-down starting at the neckband. It is worked in the round, except for a few short rows after the neckband. Carefully placed short rows and yoke increases ensure a comfortable fit. But, you can skip the short rows if you don’t like them, there are instructions in the pattern for that.
The lace pattern is easy to memorize and intuitive, shaped as birch trees around the yoke. The pattern contains a chart and written instructions for lace. The sleeves and body are separated at underarm and knitted separately in the round.
Techniques: German short rows, circular knitting, simple lace (increase and decreases), place stitches on hold, pick up and knit stitches.
Pattern is available on Ravelry and is 30% off its regular price until the end of August, 2024. Use the code BIRCH to apply the discount.
